Location: Kigoma, Tanzania
Job Purpose
To operate and maintain the maize milling machines, ensuring efficient production of high-quality flour while minimizing downtime and maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate milling machines to produce premium-quality maize flour according to set standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of milling equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues to ensure continuous operations.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust settings for optimal efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the milling area.
- Keep accurate records of production volumes, machine maintenance, and repairs.
- Collaborate with the technical team to implement improvements in milling processes.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food quality regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
- Proven experience operating and maintaining milling or industrial machines.
- Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and industrial safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position based at the Kigoma milling factory.
- Requires flexibility to respond to urgent machine breakdowns, including occasional weekends or evenings.
- Work involves both machine operation and hands-on mechanical maintenance
