Position Overview
The HR and Administration Manager will oversee all human resource functions and provide administrative support to ensure smooth operations. This person will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with Tanzanian labour laws.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Management
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and systems aligned with company goals and Tanzanian labour laws.
- Lead recruitment and onboarding for all staff, including mill operators, support staff, and some management roles.
- Maintain accurate employee records, contract, and leave registers.
- Manage employee performance, appraisals, and disciplinary procedures fairly and transparently.
- Ensure workplace health, safety, and welfare standards are met.
- Foster a positive and respectful workplace culture.
- Coordinate payroll processing, attendance tracking, and statutory deductions (NSSF, PAYE, etc.).
- Oversee general office administration, supplies, and facility management.
- Support management in planning training and capacity-building programs.
- Ensure compliance with employment and occupational safety regulations.
- Prepare HR reports and advise management on staff planning and labour cost management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, agro-processing, or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of Tanzanian labour laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Integrity, confidentiality, and leadership qualities are essential.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- May be required to work on weekends or public holidays when needed.
